Open doors through learning
Support can help with tuition, books, uniforms, transport, exams and digital access.
Beka Welfare Trust supports families, children and individuals through food, education, healthcare, community programmes and practical support in Swindon and beyond.
Beka Welfare Trust turns community generosity into direct, useful support. We work with people, volunteers, businesses and community organisations to respond to genuine need while protecting dignity and choice.
Our work has included food support, clothing and hygiene essentials, education and digital access, health awareness, family assistance and longer-term community projects. We welcome supporters of every faith and background.

Transparency matters. These clips are kept as separate project records so supporters can see the project from the earliest foundation groundwork through later construction and community updates, rather than relying on a single edited promotional video.
Beka Welfare Trust grew from community members seeing hardship and choosing to respond. Our focus is straightforward: understand the need, use resources responsibly and provide support in a way that protects dignity.
We respond to hardship with humanity, empathy and respect.
Support should never make people feel smaller. Choice and respect matter.
Trustees oversee activities, finances, restricted funds and key risks.
Local volunteers, businesses and community organisations strengthen what we can deliver.
Our work spans immediate relief and practical development: food and essentials, education and digital access, health awareness, family support, local Swindon programmes and selected community projects.
We aim to keep decision-making close to the work. New projects and significant expenditure are considered by trustees, while restricted funds are held for their specified purpose.
Registered in England and Wales as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Public registration and filing information can be verified directly with the Charity Commission.
Needs are rarely one-dimensional. A family may need food today, education support tomorrow and medical help later. Our projects are designed around the realities people face.

Beyond construction, the purpose is to create a peaceful space for worship, reflection, learning and community life.
The photographs in this section are illustrative Muslim cultural and mosque images. Genuine Beka Welfare Trust construction media is shown separately in the project videos and documentation.

Project transparency: all playable videos are original Beka Welfare Trust project files. Duplicate copies have been removed. The first two cover images use AI-generated illustrative presenters for visual presentation; the third cover image is a genuine frame taken directly from the original project footage. Keeping the additional unique video gives supporters a broader record of the work rather than showing only selected highlights.
For Muslim supporters, contributions may be made with the intention of Sadaqah Jariyah, subject to personal religious guidance on the appropriate form of giving.
For a low-income family, the cost of fees, books, uniform, transport or examinations can be enough to interrupt a child's education. Our aim is to remove those practical barriers where we can.
Historic Beka Welfare Trust programmes supported school children and students, including annual tuition assistance and educational materials.
Child sponsorship is intended to provide dependable support towards education and essential needs. Regular giving helps us plan support rather than responding only when a crisis occurs.

For a household that has lost its main income, even ordinary expenses can become overwhelming. Beka Welfare Trust has historically supported widow-led families with regular help towards their basic needs.
Our intention is not simply to provide short-term relief. Where possible, support should protect children's education, improve household stability and reduce the pressure that can force families into deeper hardship.
Historic programmes included regular assistance for seven widow-led families and support for vulnerable children and households.
Regular giving can help us provide more predictable support to vulnerable households.
For families with little income, diagnostic tests, medicine or hospital treatment can be beyond reach. Our health work has aimed to help bridge that gap through practical medical support.
Beka Welfare Trust supported digital X-ray screening for tuberculosis and documented more than 34 people being diagnosed, with treatment continuing under medical supervision. Previous activities also included hospital treatment support for people unable to meet the cost themselves.
Future support is intended to remain needs-led and subject to available resources.
In Swindon, we support people facing homelessness and hardship through food, clothing, winter essentials and practical guidance.
Local businesses, restaurants, takeaways and community members help provide prepared food. Beka Welfare Trust helps get that food to people who need it.
Good-quality used coats, jumpers, shoes, blankets and waterproof items can provide vital protection to rough sleepers during colder months.
We help asylum seekers and newcomers find the right direction for education, CV preparation, employment opportunities and local services.
Where arrangements are in place with participating restaurants, eligible individuals can be directed to receive a meal through a food-card style system. This offers practical support while protecting dignity and choice.
The Swindon Family & Youth Cost of Living Skills Hub is a two-year Beka Welfare Trust programme supported by a restricted £19,980 National Lottery grant. It is designed to help families, young people and the wider community build practical knowledge, confidence and everyday skills.
Cost-of-living pressures affect more than household finances. They can influence health, digital access, confidence, education and the ability to find reliable information. The Hub brings practical learning into a supportive community setting, with activities shaped around real-life needs.
Delivery began in December 2025 with a Diabetes Awareness Programme and Digital Health Learning. The programme is intended to develop further through tutors, learning materials, suitable venues, and agreed indoor and outdoor activities.
Accessible sessions that help people understand important health topics, recognise risks and make better-informed everyday choices. Initial activity included diabetes awareness.
Practical learning to help participants use digital tools more confidently, find reliable information and engage more effectively with increasingly digital services.
A welcoming programme for families, young people and community members, with learning and activities intended to strengthen confidence, participation and everyday resilience.
The grant supports a two-year programme. In 2025, £2,709.29 was spent on initial project delivery, tools, equipment and materials, with £17,270.71 carried forward as restricted funding for continued delivery.
Restricted funding is held for the purposes of the Hub and is not treated as unrestricted general charity funds.
The Hub is not intended to be a classroom for the sake of a classroom. Its purpose is to make useful knowledge easier to understand and apply — helping people feel more confident about health, digital services, learning and participation in their community.
Actual Beka Welfare Trust Hub photographs and approved workshop media can be placed here as the programme develops. Until genuine project images are added, the photographs above are clearly treated as illustrative rather than presented as Beka Welfare Trust beneficiaries.
